DAX Formulas To Know And Love

PowerPivot this. PowerPivot that. Blah, blah, blah. Sorry folks, I don't have time to learn your new Excel plugin because I'm writing SQL! I'm hardcore!

Well, I finally started using PowerPivot a few days ago and I'm pretty impressed (although I seem to be able to make Excel crash pretty frequently).

So I'm starting a little list of DAX functions which are coming in handy.

Enjoy.

DAX formulas to know and love

Find the last day of the week *and* remove the time from a datetime column. Useful when you want to group your datapoints by week.

Converts: 7/11/2013 9:51:43 AM (a Thursday) to 7/13/2013 (a Saturday).

=DATEVALUE([YourDatetimeColumnName]+7-WEEKDAY([YourDatetimeColumnName]))
